The collaboration aims to pave the way for certification and commercialization of CarbiCrete’s carbon utilization technology in Europe

Paris, May 26, 2023 – CarbiCrete and POINT.P, a Saint-Gobain brand, announced today that they have signed a Cooperation Agreement.

The announcement was made jointly by CarbiCrete CEO Chris Stern, and Nicolas Godet, Managing Director of POINT.P, a Saint-Gobain brand, at ChangeNOW, a summit that brings together innovators, investors, thought leaders, and policymakers to accelerate environmental and social transition.

The Cooperation Agreement lays the foundation for the production and certification of cement-free, carbon-sequestering concrete blocks, made with CarbiCrete technology, at a POINT.P pilot site in France.

CarbiCrete’s process replaces cement in concrete with industrial by-products, avoiding the GHG emissions associated with cement production. The products are then cured with carbon dioxide, which is permanently sequestered within the concrete.

“I am tremendously pleased with the evolution of this partnership,” says Stern. “In 2022, Saint-Gobain participated in our Series A funding round, and today’s new collaboration between CarbiCrete and POINT.P is a vote of confidence that demonstrates the company’s continued enthusiasm for our decarbonization solution.”

“POINT.P is the perfect partner to help commercialize our technology in France.”

“This cooperation is in step with POINT.P’s strategy to decarbonize its offer and to accelerate circular construction. POINT.P, as part of the Saint-Gobain Group, is committed to maximize its positive impact with solutions that contribute to a low carbon economy in line with the Group’s ambition to reach carbon neutrality by 2050,” says Godet.

CarbiCrete’s technology is currently being deployed at its pilot facility housed at hardscape manufacturer Patio Drummond’s precast plant in Drummondville, Quebec.
