The Corporate Knights Future 50 ranking recognizes Canadian companies whose business activities align with the transition to a sustainable economy.

Montreal, June 2, 2023 – CarbiCrete has once again been ranked among the fastest-growing sustainable companies in Canada in the second annual Corporate Knights Future 50 ranking.

Selected from a pool of over 8,000 Canadian companies, the ranking is made up of the fastest-growing 25 public companies (based on revenue growth) and the fastest-growing 25 private companies (based on growth of capital raised) which are leading the way in the transition to a sustainable economy.

CarbiCrete’s concrete-making technology replaces cement with steel slag, an industrial by-product and cures it with carbon dioxide, avoiding the greenhouse gas emissions associated with cement production, while permanently sequestering CO2 within the resulting concrete products. For every tonne of concrete produced using this process, 150 kg of CO2 are abated/removed.

Corporate Knights, a Canadian media and research B Corp committed to advancing a sustainable economy, has been producing global corporate and fund rankings for nearly 20 years. While its flagship ranking profiles the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, the Future 50 Fastest Growing Sustainable Companies in Canada looks to feature emerging companies whose energy and innovation leaves them poised to be the market leaders in the future.

“All companies are now in the business of dealing with climate change. The Future 50 are full of solutions to accelerate the sustainable economy, and they are putting them on the shelf faster than any other companies in Canada. Our reason for devising this list is our belief in the success of these companies being pivotal to creating a more sustainable Canada, as well as acting as inspiration for other entrepreneurs,” says Toby Heaps, founder and CEO of Corporate Knights.

“The CarbiCrete team is very pleased to once again be named to this list,” says Chris Stern, CEO and Co-Founder. “I am encouraged by the fact that there are so many new and innovative Canadian companies working toward the transition to a global clean economy, and I am grateful to Corporate Knights for recognizing them.”

CarbiCrete’s technology is currently being deployed at its pilot facility housed at hardscape manufacturer Patio Drummond’s precast plant in Drummondville, Quebec.

This May, CarbiCrete signed a cooperation agreement with POINT.P, the main brand of Saint-Gobain Distribution Bâtiment France. The agreement lays the foundation for the production and certification of concrete blocks, made with CarbiCrete technology, at a POINT.P pilot site in France.
