The industry veteran brings over 20 years of experience in concrete innovation to the CarbiCrete team.
Montreal, November 30, 2023 – CarbiCrete announced today the hiring of the newest member of its management team, as Ian Havill joins the company as Director of Customer Product Application.
Havill will oversee key aspects of CarbiCrete’s innovation strategy, including bringing to market new products and technologies for the company’s concrete-making customers.
An expert in industrial automation, Havill spent close to 20 years at Techo-Bloc, a leading landscaping products supplier, where he was Director of R&D and led the team that designed and implemented all of the equipment and the state-of-the-art curing system at Techo-Bloc’s production facility in Chambly, Quebec.
“This is a really key hire for us,” says Gary Belisle, CarbiCrete’s Chief Operating Officer. “Ian is a true innovator who brings a wealth of experience and concrete industry expertise to CarbiCrete. He will be instrumental in our ability to deliver customer-specific, differentiated products made with CarbiCrete’s cement-free concrete technology.”
Havill has also held positions at a number of other companies, including Coca Cola and Gillette Canada. Most recently, he was R&D Manager at GMR Safety, a firm that designs and manufactures high-performance, tailored, and innovative safety solutions.
An entrepreneur at heart, Havill has several patents to his name, including a molding apparatus for casted concrete blocks and a split block production method.
