The Montreal company has been named to the 2020 Global Cleantech 100 list by San-Francisco’s Cleantech Group
Montreal, January 17, 2020 – CarbiCrete has been named to the 2020 Global Cleantech 100 list which looks at the most innovative companies in cleantech globally.
The list is curated by Cleantech Group, a San Francisco-based organization that supports the development and marketability of clean technologies. This year, 13,900 companies from 93 countries were considered for the list.
CarbiCrete’s patented technology enables the production of cement-free concrete, avoiding cement-related emissions by replacing cement with a steel-making by-product and removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by mineralizing CO2 into the concrete for permanent storage.
“We are tremendously proud to have been named to this list by the Cleantech Group,” says Chris Stern, CarbiCrete’s CEO. “We are in very good company indeed. I would like to congratulate the other innovative firms that were listed and look forward to collaborating with some of them as we work to bring a cost-effective, cement-free concrete solution to the global construction industry.”
In December, CarbiCrete announced that the Environmental division of Harsco Corporation (NYSE: HSC) had made a $3M investment into the company in conjunction with a $2.1M grant awarded to CarbiCrete by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) to finance a demonstration program supported by a development consortium which includes a commercial concrete block manufacturer.
