CarbiCrete is a Montreal-based cleantech company that develops innovative, low-cost building solutions that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. CarbiCrete’s patented technology enables the production of cement-free, carbon-negative concrete using industrial by-products and captured CO2. The company offers concrete manufacturers the process, materials and support to make lower-cost, higher-quality precast concrete in a way that reduces their carbon footprint. CarbiCrete is undertaking a commercialization project in Drummondville, Quebec.

Responsibilities:

  • On-site responsibility for CarbiCrete’s trial project in Drummondville, Quebec
  • Manage the incorporation of CarbiCrete’s manufacturing process at client sites
  • Review manufacturing production schedules, process flows and engineering specs
  • Design control systems to minimize and resolve production issues and project costs
  • Create systems and plan production to ensure all products meet quality control standards
  • Develop standards for production and design by working with clients and management
  • Collaborate with R&D team to assist research and development efforts
  • Prepare reports
  • Design trial programs
  • Propose improvements

Requirements:

  • Eng degree in appropriate engineering field
  • 10 years or more experience as a process, industrial or production engineer in the cement or concrete industry
  • Fluently bilingual in French and English
  • Knowledge of production processes, costs, quality control, raw materials and other methods for maximizing the efficient manufacture
  • Knowledge of the ways various systems interact and how changes in operations, the environment and other conditions will affect outcomes
  • Strong knowledge of concrete quality
  • Good collaboration/teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with concrete and construction materials
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and ability to work both independently and a team setting,
  • Proficiency in report writing, reviewing, and interpretation of results
  • Strong computer proficiency
